Protective sizing agents help the yarn to withstand high mechanical stress during weaving. They do this by improving the wear resistance of the warp threads and by reducing fiber abrasion. This prevents yarn breakage during weaving and thus machinery downtime. Furthermore, sizing improves the appearance of the woven fabric.
A proper pretreatment of textiles is the basis for even and reproducible results in all subsequent finishing processes, such as dyeing and printing. When pretreating textiles, it is important to remove all interfering and accompanying substances from the fibers.
Besides level, even dyeing’s and reproducible colour shades textile dyeing also requires good colour fastnesses. These can be obtained by optimally adapted dyeing processes and the application of suitable textile auxiliaries.
This includes water and oil repellency, antistatic behaviour and flame retardancy but also soft handle, luster, wrinkle resistance and anti-slipping properties can be achieved.
Softeners however, can offer even more: They can contribute to a better processibility of fabric into garment, a good sewability of threads and woven or knitted fabrics and can improve the properties of the textiles during its use.
Lubricants, coning oils, warping oils and bonding agents ensure that the yarns, threads and twists can withstand the high technical demands of the weaving, knitting, sewing or embroidering procedures.
The coating is applied via a knife system, a lick-roll application or with a rotary printing screen. Coated textiles are manufactured not only for the fashion industry, but also for the technical sector.
There are either dyestuffs or pigments used for the colour design. An alternative to conventional printing methods that is becoming increasingly popular is digital printing with inkjet printers. There are almost no creative limits for designers when it comes to digital printing.
